A whole-home remodel and interior design project in San Juan Capistrano, this residence was reimagined with a clean contemporary foundation balanced by warmth, pattern and natural materials. Crisp white cabinetry and streamlined surfaces are punctuated by black fixtures and lighting, while warm wood, textured stone and distinctive tile keep the spaces from feeling stark. In the kitchen, a live-edge wood dining surface extends directly from the island, creating an unexpected organic counterpoint to the tailored cabinetry. Throughout the home, patterned wallpaper, expressive tile and thoughtfully placed accents give each room its own identity while maintaining a consistent point of view. The result is a highly functional family home with strong architectural lines and just enough personality to make the modern design feel distinctly personal.
