This Irvine first-floor remodel and interior design project was shaped around creating a home that feels beautiful, personal, and effortless for every member of the family. Because one family member uses a wheelchair, accessibility was thoughtfully integrated throughout the design—from generous circulation and approachable work surfaces to spaces that can be comfortably used without any of the accommodations feeling clinical or visually different. The remodeled kitchen opens directly to the outdoors through expansive folding doors, creating an easy indoor-outdoor connection and more room for the entire family to gather. Throughout the home, clean architectural updates provide a backdrop for meaningful pieces collected over time, including the intricately carved antique swing from India, family art, and treasured objects. The result balances function with personality, creating an inclusive home where accessibility is simply part of the design rather than something added onto it.
